The calendar on the wall (yes, I still use a calendar and not just my phone — I still wear a watch too!) says it’s October, but I have already started my Christmas shopping for this year!
I actually keep notes on my phone all year long for gift ideas for all my friends and family. Whenever I think of something or hear them mention something that would make a good gift, I try to remember to make a note in my phone. It makes it much easier when it comes time to buy a birthday or Christmas present for that person — if I’ve done a good job of listening, I should already have a few ideas for them in my phone.
I’m sure you’ve noticed that these days everything is so much more expensive than it used to be. It’s crazy! So, I figured I would go through my the gift idea lists on my phone ahead of the true Christmas shopping season and get familiar with what’s on my lists, then when I see one of those items on sale for a really good deal, I can just scoop it up now — even if I won’t actually need that gift for a few months. And this week it happened… I saw one of the items on my list on sale for a really good price so I grabbed it! So I have officially started my Christmas shopping here in October.
The other benefit to getting an early start on the Christmas shopping is that it will help me spread the bills over a bigger period too, so I won’t be quite as broke in December and January. Oh, I’ll still be broke, just not as broke. 🤣
