The Nanaimo Chinese Cultural Society (NCCS) are excited to wish you a fantastic new year but also bring to you some events to celebrate it.
Their 2017 Lunar New Year Gala will be held on Sunday, February 12th, at 4 p.m., at the Beban Park Social Centre. It will be a great opportunity to watch a fabulous show with local artistic groups performing the lion dance, play traditional instruments, and so much more. The Asian style buffet will include juicy BBQ duck, fish in chilli sauce, prawns, and etc. Tickets are $30 for adult regular seating and $15 for each child under 12. (This will include the special after-show dinner buffet).
The second event is the Spring Recital on Sunday, February 19th, at 2 p.m., at St. Phillip's by-the-Sea (7113 Lantzville Road, Lantzville). There will be lots of variety, performances by singers of all ages and stages. Admission is by donation and they'll offer refreshments and a chance to mingle with the audience at the intermission.
