NANAIMO — The Clippers rolled to their sixth straight victory by beating the Spruce Grove Saints 7-2.
It was Nanaimo’s highest offensive output of the season and the team’s largest margin of victory.
Just two minutes into the game Drew Roelofs put the Clippers up 1-0, then Miller Kay with a shorthanded marker and Pherson Loehndorf grabbing his first of the season on a man advantage gave the Clippers all the offence they would need.
In the middle frame Indiana Grossbard scored back to back, including one on a power play, followed by the first goal of the season for Patrick Fortune.
Both Fortune and Grossbard finished the contest with three points.
Spruce Grove fought back with a pair of power play goals in the final period while Matthew Ross scored his first BCHL for the Clippers as well.
Nanaimo outshot Spruce Grove 40-37 and the Clippers ended up 3/5 on the power play and 5-7 on the penalty kill.
Grayson Hanggi got the win in net to improve to 2-1 on the season.
The Clippers ended the night with sole possession of first place in the BCHL’s Coastal West Division as they head in to a rematch of the 2026 Coastal Conference final against Prince George on Nov. 7.
