LADYSMITH — A crash severely impacted northbound traffic on the Trans-Canada Hwy. (TCH) near Ladysmith Thursday afternoon.
While details aren’t immediately clear, BC Emergency Health Services (BCEHS), confirmed their crews responded to a motor vehicle crash which occurred on the TCH at Brenton Page Rd. on Thursday, April 3 at 12:45 p.m.
Pictures from the scene depicted at least one vehicle on fire, impacting northbound motorists.
“Two ambulances with primary care paramedics responded to the scene. Paramedics assessed two patients. One patient was transported to hospital,” paramedic public information officer Brian Twaites told NanaimoNewsNOW.
A caller to our newsroom stated northbound traffic was completely stopped following the crash, however no official highway closure was referenced by DriveBC.
Traffic was bypassing the scene and a backlog heading north out of Ladysmith on the highway had been improving as of 2:50 p.m.
There is no detour available to bypass the crash.
