NANAIMO — A driver is accused of aggressively driving in circles on a quiet north Nanaimo street before losing control and hitting a home.
Nanaimo RCMP say it happened on Saturday, Nov. 30 around 10:15 p.m. at the traffic circle located on Butcher Rd. and Kenwill Dr. where a car was found lodged in the front of a home.
“Fortunately, no one in the home nor the occupants of the vehicle were injured,” Nanaimo RCMP Res. Cst. Gary O’Brien stated in a news release, who noted witnesses assisted in their investigation.
Two occupants were seen running away from the car, with police noting the alleged driver was tracked down about an hour later, O’Brien noted.
He stated Motor Vehicle Act infractions were issued against a young male motorist for driving while uninsured, failure to remain at the scene of an accident and driving without due care and attention.
The car’s impact destroyed a window and some of the home’s exterior brickwork.
