NANAIMO — Traffic was snarled following a collision between a pickup truck and a transit bus.
Emergency crews were called to the Nanaimo Parkway, near the Cedar Rd./Trans Canada Hwy. junction around 3:30 p.m. on Monday, March 4 after a Ford F-350 pickup truck collided with an RDN Transit bus in the intersection.
The incident, which occurred in the eastern portion of the intersection forced a closure of Cedar Rd. at the highway.
Both north and southbound traffic along Hwy. 1 was limited to a single lane past the incident, with backups reported in both directions.
No word on injuries or a cause of the incident.
Tow trucks were called to the scene quickly in a bid to clear the vehicles from the area.
Nanaimo Fire Rescue crews began departing the scene around 4:20 p.m. with traffic opening up shortly after.
Traffic was still able to pass through the Cedar Rd./Hwy. 1 junction in south Nanaimo Monday afternoon, after a pickup truck collided with a transit bus.
