NANAIMO —A total of seven new cases of COVID-19 have been detected at a long-term care home in Nanaimo.
According to Island Health, Nanaimo Seniors Village on Uplands Dr. is reporting six new cases among the residents and one staff case related to the outbreak.
The outbreak was first declared at the north Nanaimo facility on Jan. 25.
On Feb. 1, 2022, a total of 31 patients at the Nanaimo Regional General Hospital had tested positive over the course of two outbreaks on separate floors.
Dufferin Place, along with Chartwell Malaspina Care Residence and Woodgrove Manor all have recent positive tests.
A new outbreak at Berwick on the Lake on Ross Rd. was added to Island Health’s list on Monday, Jan. 31.
Nanaimo Seniors Village is owned and operated by West Coast Seniors Housing Management.
