NANAIMO – An additional COVID-19 exposure was confirmed at one of Nanaimo’s largest secondary schools more than a week after it happened.
The Nanaimo-Ladysmith School District the night of Wednesday, Feb. 16 announced the exposure event for Feb. 8.
Island Health is contact tracing the potential expsoure.
A flurry of exposures were confirmed at NDSS for the end of January and early February, up until Feb. 5. The last exposure was announced on Feb. 9.
There’s currently seven schools within the Nanaimo-Ladysmith School District on Island Health’s COVID-19 exposure list.
The week between exposure and confirmation at NDSS is the longest seen during the COVID-19 pandemic within the school district.
