PARKSVILLE — The third COVID-19 case within the Qualicum School District has been confirmed.
An exposure event at Ballenas Secondary School on Friday, Jan. 22 and the morning of Monday, Jan. 25 was confirmed by SD69 on Wednesday, Jan. 27.
The school district announced in a release it learned of the confirmed COVID-19 case on the same day.
“All contact tracing is expected to be concluded by the end of day January 27. Anyone who does not receive a phone call from public health officials is advised to attend school and monitor for COVID-19 symptoms.”
This is the second COVID-19 exposure event in a week, with the PASS-Woodwinds Alternate School suffering a three day exposure event from Jan. 20 to Jan. 22.
The first was at Kwalikum Secondary School in late November.
