NANAIMO — Police are trying to find whoever was in a car involved in a serious single-vehicle crash on the Nanaimo Parkway.
RCMP Cst. Gary O’Brien said an older model gray Mazda 4-door sedan believed to be traveling southbound on the highway went off-road at about 2 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 19.
The extensively damaged vehicle was found in the ditch after leaving the roadway and hitting a large tree, Cst. Gary O’Brien said.
“We’re very concerned for any occupants of that vehicle given the damage that incurred it’s very possible they were injured,” O’Brien told NanaimoNewsNOW.
Investigators tracked down the last known registered owner who indicated the vehicle was sold some time ago.
“He does not know who the current owner was. The local hospital was checked and no one had been admitted following the crash.”
Anybody with information is asked to contact the Nanaimo RCMP non-emergency line at 250-754-2345.
