NANAIMO – The Serious Crime Unit is investigating a body found on Boxing Day morning outside a Nanaimo bar.
The body was discovered around 5:45 a.m. on Boxing Day in the alley behind the Oxy Pub in the Old City Quarter.
The preliminary investigation couldn’t determine a cause of death, so the SCU was brought in.
RCMP. Cst. Gary O’Brien said in a release the man was last seen around 9:30 p.m. on Christmas Day.
“Investigators have learned in the evening of Friday, Dec. 25 loud voices were heard coming from the area that the deceased was found.”
Anyone who was in the area Christmas night or Boxing Day morning is urged to contact Nanaimo RCMP.
