NANAIMO – An RCMP officer charged with assault causing bodily harm will be back in court in the new year for a pre trial conference.
Cst. Tim Mason, charged in relation to a Dec. 2, 2018 incident in Nanaimo, had his case referred this week to a Jan. 29, 2021 hearing at Victoria Law Courts.
The allegations against Mason relate to a public intoxication arrest and detention.
Mason has not entered a plea.
The BC Prosection Service announced the charge against Mason in an Oct. 8, 2020 news release.
Court records show Mason has retained a lawyer.
His matter is expected to be resolved in court in Nanaimo.
Nanaimo RCMP won’t discuss Mason’s employment status. He’s not in custody.
