NANAIMO – Randerson Ridge Elementary School in central Nanaimo is the site of School District 68’s newest COVID-19 exposure.
The district announced late Friday, Nov. 20 the school had been the site of an additional exposure event on Nov. 12.
The person involved is isolating at home and Island Health is currently undertaking contact tracing.
Randerson originally had two cases of COVID-19, declared a cluster by Island Health, on Nov. 15 with exposure dates from Nov. 4-6 and Nov. 9-10.
The cluster came on the heels of similar situations at Dover Bay and John Barsby Secondary Schools.
Frank J. Ney Elementary and Ladysmith Secondary are the only other schools to have a confirmed COVID-19 exposure event within Nanaimo-Ladysmith Public Schools.
Seventeen cases of COVID-19 were confirmed within Island Health on Friday.
