NANAIMO – There’s a third confirmed COVID-19 exposure at a Nanaimo school.
The Nanaimo-Ladysmith Public School district announced on Sunday, Nov. 15 there was an exposure at Frank J. Ney Elementary school in north Nanaimo.
The exposure took place on Nov. 12. The person affected is at home isolating.
This is the third school affected within the school district.
Both Dover Bay Secondary and John Barsby Secondary are considered clusters, with two exposure events each.
According to Island Health a cluster is defined by two confirmed cases at a facility within a two week period.
Island Health has completed contact tracing from the Frank J. Ney Elementary exposure. Anyone who may have come in contact with the affected person will have been contacted.
