We just carved our pumpkins this weekend, and I’d forgotten how much time it takes! And how sore your arms can get… We got our pumpkins from McNab’s, and they’re huge! Which means a lot of space to get carving.
I found a few tips that helped out with the carving process – like having lots of bowls for the pumpkin guts, and lots of different sized knives. But other people also recommend things like cutting off the bottom of your pumpkin instead of cutting around the stem. Also, spraying the pumpkin with water while you carve it is supposed to make it easier. And the more gunk and pumpkin meat you carve out from the inside, means it’ll go bad, slower. So definitely take the time to really scoop out the insides.
Pumpkin carving is one of many things I love about Halloween, so I’m always looking for more fun ways to do it better! Hope that you’re getting in the spooky Halloween spirit!
