DUNCAN — The Clippers had a flat performamce in Game 5 of their second round BCHL playoff series against the Cowichan Valley Capitals.
The Capitals jumped out to a two goal first period lead and cruised to a 5-0 victory.
Nanaimo had a strong middle period and outshot the Caps 13-4 but netminder Jaiden Sharma was unbeatable and has won both of his starts in the series.
The Cowichan Valley power play went 3/5 and they havc five power play goals in the last two games of the series.
In Game 5 both teams had 29 shots but the Capitals were much more opportunistic than the Clippers.
Both team have had large periods of momentum.
Nanaimo is up three games to two and they have a chance to close out the series at home in Game 6 on April 25.
