NANAIMO — Bargain hunters have one more chance to take advantage of the Nanaimo Recycles Trunk Sale this weekend.
The final Trunk Sale of the year happens on Saturday, Aug. 23, from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m., located inside parking lots L and M at the Vancouver Island University, and is free to attend.
Around 150 sellers are expected on site selling gently used “garage sale” type household items, with vendor spots available on a first-come, first-served basis, according to the City.
No retail booths or sale of new items are permitted, unless it’s a new item made from recycled material.
Buyers are encouraged to bring their own reusable bags when hunting for the best deal.
The City’s director of public works John Elliot says this is a great way to promote the reusing and recycling of unwanted items.
“By supporting reuse and keeping items out of the landfill, we’re helping build a more sustainable and connected community—one trunk at a time.”
More information can be found here at the City’s Reduce and Reuse events page.
