LADYSMITH — A two vehicle crash along the highway has caused significant injuries to two people.
BC RCMP confirmed the Trans Canada Hwy. crash just south of First Ave. during the noon hour on Wednesday, July 26 involved two vehicles, resulting in numerous emergency responders to the scene, including air ambulance resources.
Multiple witnesses reported two air ambulances attending the scene along with additional ground resources.
Paramedics on scene cared for and transported two patients to hospital in critical condition, according to BC Emergency Health Services.
Traffic began to flow again in both directions around 2:30 p.m. after being heavily delayed for an extended period following the crash.
No further information about the incident, including ages or genders of those injured or descriptions of their vehicles, could be relayed by the RCMP.
