PORT ALBERNI – The Clippers were done in by Victoria’s top scorers and the Grizzlies power play in a 6-1 loss.
Henri Schreifels and Ellis Rickwood each had three points in the game while the Victoria power play clicked twice in five chances.
Nanaimo’s only goal came short handed when Nolan Hutcheson and Trevor LeDonne set up Tristan Fraser in the second period.
The tally made the score 3-1 but Nanaimo was unable to add to it.
Jordan Naylor made 36 saves for the Clippers who were outshot 42-27.
Victoria has a 3-1 advantage in the season series with another head to head matchup on May 1.
In between the Clippers will play a trio of games against the Alberni Valley Bulldogs April 25, 28 and 30.
