NANAIMO – The Clippers’ abbreviated 2021 schedule has been finalized.
Nanaimo will play 20 games in 36 days all at Weyerhauser Arena in Port Alberni.
Their BCHL campaign starts on Saturday, April 3 at 1 p.m. against Victoria. The season wraps on May 8 versus the Cowichan Valley Capitals.
Team captain Trevor LeDonne said he and his teammates are excited with the certainty of a season, but the last few months have been a roller coaster.
“We’ve been waiting a few months for this and since we’ve been given the green light the attitude and energy has been better in the room. Everyone’s just looking forward to playing games again.”
There will be no spectators allowed in Port Alberni but Clipper fans can listen to every game on 106.9 the Wolf or online through the Wolf app.
Island Radio general manager Rob Bye noted the radio station will be the crucial link for Nanaimo’s hockey community to follow the Clippers in this very unique season.
“106.9 The Wolf is a long-time partner of your Nanaimo Clippers and we’re thrilled that hockey is back. We’re looking forward to hearing Dan Marshall’s play-by-play of all the action.”
The Wolf’s radio feed will also be available as part of the BCHL’s video pay-per-view package.
