NANAIMO – One new case of COVID-19 within Island Health was once again reported in the north region of the health authority.
It was the only new case confirmed on both Wednesday and Tuesday.
The number of active cases held steady across the rest of the area, with five currently active in central Vancouver Island.
There’s 12 active cases of the virus within Island Health out of a total of 222 since the beginning of the pandemic.
Across B.C., 115 new cases were confirmed on Wednesday. The province is expected to cross 10,000 total cases on Thursday.
Currently, 1,387 cases are active in the province with 15 people in intensive care.
No new fatalities or outbreaks were confirmed on Wednesday.
