NANAIMO – The Island Health region ended the week on a good note.
No new COVID-19 cases were confirmed on Friday, Oct. 2.
It was the second time during the week no new cases were announced, with the total rising by five to 209 since Monday.
There’s currently one active case in the central Vancouver Island area and three to the south.
Across B.C., 161 new cases were confirmed on Friday, the highest all week.
The number of active cases rose slightly to just over 1,300.
Three new fatalities were announced.
