QUALICUM BEACH – A sophisticated drug operation was hindered after arrests in Qualicum Beach.
Police were called out to rural Qualicum Beach on Sunday, Sept. 13 around 6:30 p.m. to reports of shots fired from a car.
The attending officer found three people, two from Qualicum Beach and one from Nanaimo, with insecure firearms. One was an allegedly stolen handgun.
Their homes were then searched on the suspicion of finding more guns, which was accurate.
“Officers conducting the search also found evidence of a large scale sophisticated drug operation on the property,” a release from Oceanside RCMP said. “Officers seized illicit products and manufacturing equipment.”
All three, in the early 40’s, were arrested and released with conditions. They’re expected to appear in court in December.
