Forward Trevor Fitzgerald finished his first season as a Clipper after starting his BCHL career with the Vernon Vipers.
Trevor joined the Clippers in a huge offseason trade with Prince George. After the Spruce Kings acquired him from the Vipers, P-G sent Fitzgerald, Scott Milnthorpe and Josh Bryan to Nanaimo for Myles, Leo and Gerry Fitzgerald and Jesse Ursic.
The Vernon product made an immediate impression on the coaches and was named the Team Captain just 9 games into the season.
The 10-11 season was his first in the BCHL and Fitzgerald had 18 points in 58 games.
He got a taste of the league with the Vipers in the 09-10 season and even played one game in the 2010 Royal Bank Cup.
Over the last few years the Vernon native has suited up with the North Okanagan Knights and Chase Chiefs of the KIJHL and the Okanagan Rockets of the BC Major Midget League.
Trevor credits former Vernon Vipers captain David Robinson for teaching him what it takes to be the captain of a BCHL team.
Fitzgerald has become the Clippers number one faceoff man and was fourth in team scoring this past season.
The Captain was selected the 2011-2012 "Best Two Way Player" and he'll be relied on heavily as the Clippers gear up to host the Western Canadian Championship with a berth at the 2013 Royal Bank Cup there for the taking.
